When emerging Chicagoan bass sensation J. Worra arrived in L.A. five years ago she didn’t plan on becoming a living testament to gay badassery, but eventually the relentless joy in her music bounced into local infamy and beyond. Known also as Jamie Sitter, J. Worra’s hard-hitting tones of undulating fun received rave reviews including DJ Mag’s Top Breakthrough Producer of North America 2019.

In addition to headlining events like Dirtybird Campout, Beyond Wonderland, Holy Ship!, Splash House, CRSSD, Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival, her stylish remixes are frequently special-ordered by the likes of Kascade, Deadmau5, Party Favor, and Gorgon City. In fact, her music has already amassed a whopping 1.2 million streams across 79 countries on Spotify.

Between the weather, tapas at Scopa Italian Roots and the talent pool in the city, L.A. became the ideal launchpad for the budding heroine. “You’ve also got a city that has so many talented artists, engineers and vocalists.” Sitter told us. “Being around all that inspiration makes it really special.”

All that creativity gave way to Arrow Recordings. Not because it was part of a grand strategy but because it was the only way Sitter could release music at her own pace.

“I hit a wall because I was waiting for labels to get back to me,” she says. “Like, I’ve waited times for nine months for tracks to come out. So, I started the label to really push my sound and give myself an outlet to release my music on.”

Now, with more music than ever in her arsenal, J. Worra aims to produce more tracks from other artists in 2020. She’s also preparing for her first solo headlining tour called Just Because. Of the theme Sitter explained, “A portion from every ticket and a percentage of my fee goes to a charity in each town on the tour.”
