53-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after 2-Car Crash near Coffee Road

MODESTO, CA (November 7, 2022) – Wednesday night, Nolen Praytor was killed and Paul Ryun was hurt in a red-light collision on Claribel Road. First responders arrived to the scene around 9:45 p.m., near Coffee Road. According to reports, Ryun was driving a Toyota SUV west on Claribel when he stopped for a red light in the left turn lane. For reasons unknown, he then proceeded through the intersection while he still had a red light. As a result, Ryun collided with a Mercury in the intersection, driven by Praytor. Upon impact, 53-year-old Praytor suffered life-threatening injuries before he was later pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported 52-year-old Ryun, of Oakdale to Doctors Medical Center with serious injuries. Following preliminary duties, officers did not suspect that DUI played a factor. However, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway.
Sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Nolen Praytor. Thoughts are with them during this very difficult time.
