Single-Vehicle Crash near Picketts Junction Left 33-Year-Old Woman Dead
SIERRA NEVADA, CA (November 17, 2022) – Early Monday morning, a solo-car crash on Highway 89 claimed the life of Noelle Elizabeth Rivera and left two other children injured.
The fatality occurred shortly before 4:30 a.m. in the Sierra Nevada near Picketts Junction.
According to the investigators, a 2019 Hyundai sedan going southbound west off the road crashed into a small boulder. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear.
Tragically, responders declared the 33-year-old driver, Rivera of Fair Oaks, dead at the scene.
Responding medical personnel airlifted a 9-year-old and 7-year-old child to Reno Hospital with moderate to significant injuries. Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
No further details regarding the Highway 89 single-vehicle crash have been released to the public. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
