A Long Beach cop was arrested after he allegedly sparked up a relationship with a minor while on the job and apparently had the victim text nude photos to him, police said.

The minor, who was not identified as a girl or boy, this month told a “school resource officer” about the situation, sparking a Long Beach Police Department investigation, according to an LBPD statement.

The officer was ID'd as …

… Noe Yanez, a nine-year employee.

Sheriff's inmate data shows that he's 40-years-old.

Long Beach police say he was arrested yesterday on suspicion of possessing child porn. They said “multiple” search warrants were served in the case, so it sounds like they came up with something (allegedly).

Jail info says the lawman was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail and that he was arrested by cops from the adjacent city of Signal Hill.

Yanez has been suspended without pay, according to the Long Beach department.

LBPD Chief Jim McDonnell had this to say:

Not only are the actions of this officer a violation of the law, they are a violation of the community's trust, and a violation of the principles of this Department. The men and women of this Department take great pride in the good work they do everyday with the community, and we will not allow the actions of this one officer to compromise that relationship.
