Never timid, the feisty Bootleg Theater branches into the world of Terpsichore big-time this weekend with its debut Bootleg Dance Festival. Curated by Collage Theater's Heidi Duckler and brimming with top-notch local choreographers and dance troupes, each of the three programs offers a tasting menu of two or three choreographers for a splendid sampling of dance today in L.A. The opening is shared by three award-winning modern choreographers: Arianne Hoffman, Keith Glassman and Carmela Hermann. Saturday juxtaposes the Post Natyam Collective's study of courtesans on the Indian subcontinent with high-energy hip-hop from Antics Performance. Sunday's finale pairs Jamie Benson's riff on public transportation with the dance/media ensemble Wife.
