Celia SoudryFor about two years, the nightclub Bar 210, connected to the Beverly Hilton Hotel, was the hottest place to be in Beverly Hills — if waiting in line in a miniskirt until midnight was your thing. Now, when you drive past the chained-off bar on a Friday or Saturday night you can almost see the tumbleweeds drifting past.
Like so many Hollywood-type clubs in L.A., “it ran its course,” said Lynda Simonetti, PR Manager of the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The general manager left and everything went downhill from there, said a former bouncer. The space, still used for industry parties and private events, has no plans to reopen to the public as a nightlife venue. Since chef Marcel Vigneron departed from the restaurant in September 2010, the place seemed to lose some of its initial steam. But, he's moved on, and so will we. “This is typical of many clubs,” said Simonetti. “They served their purpose.”
