Surely the real weekend of horrors was the recent one with nonstop coverage of the Royal Wedding (the hats! the fascinators!), but Creation Entertainment is proclaiming it this weekend as the Weekend of Horrors Convention returns to Los Angeles. In its 25th year, the con continues its tradition of industry panels, celebrity guests and a dealers' room bursting with fanboy merchandise, not unlike the exploding heads in Scanners. The celebrities on hand include Robert Englund, better known as Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger; John Carpenter, creator of the Halloween film franchise; Asia Argento, star of 1996 Italian horror flick The Stendhal Syndrome; and Tippi Hedren, the pecked-on heroine of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. There's also a Zombie Walk on Saturday morning, with human-hungry corpses staggering down the streets; a Creepy Costume Contest on Saturday night; and Marc Draven's Ink Fusion Tattoo Festival, going on all weekend. Scary!
