Under the FAQs section for Night on Broadway, under the question “Can I do everything in one night?” the answer is No. Night on Broadway has performances, artists, rides, vendors, food trucks and even a mini Pride festival (DTLA PROUD) smack dab in the middle.
Night on Broadway started with the idea that all the wonderful old movie palaces on Broadway in DTLA would open for one night to the public, and from there it has blossomed into a sprawling street festival drawing more than 100,000 people to the area. The website for the festival boasts that “Councilmember José Huizar’s Bringing Back Broadway has become the fastest-growing one-day arts and music festival in North America.”
With performances by The B-52s, TEASE If You Please!, Lucent Dossier Experience, Rasputin’s Marionettes, and dozens of others, this Night on Broadway was the most jam-packed yet. The unseasonably warm weather on Saturday, Jan. 27, probably gave it a boost as well.
