Woman Killed in Pedestrian Collision near Busch Drive on PCH

MALIBU, CA (December 23, 2021) – Thursday morning, 27-year-old Nicole Valdes-Cortez was killed in a crash on Pacific Coast Highway.

The accident took place around 6:30 a.m., along Pacific Coast Highway near Busch Drive. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to California Highway Patrol, a truck driver hit and killed Nicole under unknown circumstances.

Moreover, the collision caused the road closure and caused delay for the school day for Malibu Middle School and Malibu High School.

California Highway Patrol officers stated that it is uncertain at this time if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident. However, an active investigation is underway.
