One Pedestrian Dead, Driver Arrested after Alleged DUI Crash near Edna Avenue

LAS VEGAS, NV (July 26, 2022) – Friday night, police arrested 43-year-old Nick Butila in a fatal pedestrian crash on Durango Drive.

The incident occurred on July 22nd, at around 10:19 p.m., near the intersection of Durango Drive and Edna Avenue near Sahara Avenue

According to reports, a 2015 Mazda 3, driven by Butila, was traveling south on Durango when it collided with a woman who was standing in the street outside of a pedestrian crosswalk.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene shortly after and rushed the woman to University Medical Center where she later passed away from her injuries.

As per police, the driver of the Mazda, Butila, remained on the scene but displayed signs of impairment.

Officials eventually arrested Butila on suspicion of causing death by driving under the influence. At this time, an active investigation into the crash is underway.
