Nicholas Gennari, an award-winning architect and interior designer, has been synonymous with innovation in his field. One of the most interesting characteristics of his approach is his strong belief in the impact interior design has on a person’s overall health and well-being, Gennari believes that through aesthetics and biophilic design he can instill balance and the feeling of grounding that many have been missing nowadays.Due to this unique approach, Nicholas has been invited by the European Cultural Centre to participate in the ‘Time Space Existence’ exhibition during the 2025 Venice Biennale of Architecture, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious architectural exhibitions.
From Curiosity to Career: A Journey of Learning and Inspiration
Growing up surrounded by architecture due to his parents’ family business, Gennari developed a fascination for the art at an early age. His interest was further sparked during high school history classes, where he learned how architecture has long served as a demonstration of power in ancient civilizations. This early passion led him to pursue an academic journey at the prestigious Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP) in Brazil, where he was introduced to the integration of art and functionality. His creativity was enticed, encouraging him to keep striving for more. Later, at the Miami International University of Art & Design, Gennari honed his technical skills and developed a deeper appreciation for interior design’s impact on well-being, especially through biophilic design principles, which are key in his work today.

Milestones & Achievements: A Career Marked by Recognition and Innovation
Gennari’s career reached a pivotal moment when he received his first major international award from the Society of British and International Design (SBID). This recognition gave him the visibility to propel his career forward. Since then, his work has earned him accolades from some of the most prestigious design organizations globally, including the German Design Awards. These honors have not only solidified his credibility but have also opened doors to new opportunities, including an invitation to exhibit at the esteemed Time Space Existence exhibition in Venice.
A moment in Gennari’s career which he enjoys looking back to is the design of an apartment in Miami within a building designed by the legendary architect and designer Zaha Hadid. The project presented an exciting challenge, as the client requested a design inspired by Hadid’s futuristic and organic style. This bold, creative endeavor earned him his first major international award, rewarding Gennari’s ability to think outside the box and push creative boundaries.
