Forget New York. If you can re-make it here, you can re-make it anywhere. And plenty of people, from L Ron Hubbard to Conan O'Brien, seem to have relaunched their careers in this City of Angels.

You can now add Newt Gingrich to that list.

Yeah, despite what you might have heard about the implosion of his 2012 presidential campaign, he's already in relaunch mode, and he's doing it …

… Sunday in L.A.

Gingrich writes on his Facebook page:

I am committed to running the substantive, solutions-oriented campaign I set out to run earlier this spring. The campaign begins anew Sunday in Los Angeles.

This week his entire senior staff resigned, reportedly after he decided to take a two-week vacation with his wife instead of getting to work on looking all presidential and stuff.

LAist has the deets on the Sunday redux, which “takes place on Sunday at the Republican Jewish Coalition's Summer Bash at 7 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton.”

Good. We know where not to be.
