O.C. Cop Scott Cole Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 17-Year-Old Girl While On The Job

Prosecutors charged 41-year-old Scott Cole of Hesperia with a felony count of sexual penetration of a minor by a foreign object.

What did he allegedly do?

Authorities claim that an on-dity Cole responded to a report of stolen jewelry at the 17-year-old's home in an unincorporated area near Tustin last summer.

After speaking to the girl's mom, who originally called authorities, and her sister, he allegedly went to the teen's room and told her to take off her clothes.

He returned, closed the door, and penetrated her with his finger or fingers, prosecutors said.

Deputy District Attorney Robert Mestman said, "She was in shock when it happened."

The mom and sister thought it was suspicious that the deputy closed the door to the room when he "spoke" to the girl, according to the D.A.'s office.

Cole, who had been with the department 14 years, was put on paid administrative leave. A judge let him go free Thursday, but was expected back in court Friday to enter a plea.
