UPDATE: KTLA and radio stations are reporting that the decomposed dead man, now identified, was engaged to the supervisor of a missing Oxnard woman, and he told them he was a human/alien hybrid secretly working with the U.S. government, according to the missing woman’s mother. See below.
A massive cache of weapons was found at the Pacific Palisades home of a man whose body was found in a vehicle parked down the street, police said this week.
The find was made after officers went to check out a report of a body in a vehicle Friday at 5 p.m. in the 1700 block of Palisades Drive, according to a Los Angeles Police Department statement.
While the man's death appears to have been from natural causes, a police official told us, detectives investigating the case wanted to check out his home to be sure.
They obtained a warrant and discovered more than 1,200 firearms, including handguns, shotguns and rifles, and more than two tons of ammunition, the department stated.
The official we spoke to said there was no evidence of foul play in the man's death. But clearly cops are concerned about what they found.
"The LAPD Bomb Squad responded to ascertain whether there were hazardous devices or material in the residence or garage," the department stated.
The identity of the man was not released. The guns and ammo were seized and booked into evidence, police said.
Detectives with the department's Gun Detail, meanwhile, were "looking into the origin and legality of the firearms," according to the LAPD's statement.
Anyone with information on the case was asked to call homicide detectives at 213-486-6890.

VadBunker’s mother believes her daughter has been caught in the middle of a mysterious death investigation and may be suffering from a mental breakdown. According to Laura VadBunker, her daughter believes Lash was an alien “sent to Earth to protect us.”
“I can’t believe this,” Laura VadBunker told KTLA in a telephone interview. “It’s worse than a Twilight Zone movie and we’ve lived through hell.”
According to broadcast media reports, VadBunker’s mother believes that her daughter, who worked for Lash's fiancée, got entangled in the bizarre events and could be mentally unstable. Laura VadBunker said that her daughter and Lash's fiancée were drawn to the idea that Lash was an alien hybrid “sent to Earth to protect us.”
Lash still has not been officially identified by police.
