This longstanding Irish bar and grill, opened in 1936, is actually one of the oldest currently operational restaurants in the city, but the last few years have been tough for the Fairfax Boulevard institution. After a months-long renovation in 2012 at the hands of Brandon Boudet of Little Dom's fame, Tom Bergin's closed in 2013 while awaiting a buyer. But thanks to regular and local resident Derek Schreck, the restaurant and bar reopened on January 4, 2014 and is celebrating its first year back in business with a throwback New YEar's Eve Bash. Come dressed in your 1930s best and feast from the regular menu, which will be available all night, or partake in the limited prix fixe menu of oysters and prime rib — all for $19.36.
