We love L.A. We love the nightlife. We always will.

It was a tough year for a lot of us, but the sounds and sights we soaked in, the floors we tore up and the people we met continued to entice and excite us. We have a feeling 2012 is going to be even better, and we'll be covering it from the inside-out as always. LinA In LA will no longer run in LA Weekly, but it will continue on our own blog, LA Slush.com and via our radio show on Moheak.com, every Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

But we're not leaving the Weekly. We'll continue to spotlight a DJ-driven night via our “Club Pick of Week,” and continue covering the city's most fascinating nightlife and music events regularly for the arts and music sections. Thanks for reading and raging with us. Happy New Year!

Now, on to our New Year's Eve events!

Fri., Dec. 30

The Evil Club Empire throws their final club party of the year, Fuck 2011, at the Dragonfly. Bruce Perdew from Clockwork Orange, Blue Mondays, & Perversion invites you to “celebrate the end of another shitty year” with a bludgeoning of all his clubs' sounds on the decks: '80s, Industrial, Electro, Goth, Future Pop, Goth, Synth Pop, & Darkwave. 6510 Santa Monica Blvd. www.evilclubempire.com

It's the End Of The Line at Das Bunker. Their last party of the year offers an “un-gimmicky” night of grinding with guest spinner DJ Qbot of Pandemic Chicago in the noisy industrial/noisy techno room, plus all of DB's raging residents. At Catch One, 4067 W. Pico Blvd. www.dasbunker.org

Sat., Dec. 31

Stressed out about who you're gonna kiss when the clock strikes midnight? If 2012 signals the end of the world, as some interpreting the Mayan calendar suggest, you should probably kiss whoever the hell you want. It'll be over soon anyway. One thing's for sure, there will be an Apocolips going down in Hollywood, thanks to the Boulet Brothers. What this means for NYE partying, besides lots of smacking and macking? A Thunderdome gladiator ring, fantasy shows, road warrior go-go slaves and interactive sets featuring three areas of “sexworld goodness.” What a way to go. At the Dragonfly, 6510 Santa Monica Blvd. www.misskittysparlour.com

“Unspeakable” special big guests are promised at 7Seven7's NYE Finale, but no matter who they may be, the confirmed guests are pretty stellar: Chuck Inglish, Acid Girls, Paul Devro, DJs!n, and more, plus performances by Rob Roy, B.C. Kingdom and ZandShe. It all goes down in a Downtown L.A. warehouse. RSVP for location and info here.

More New Year's Eve haps below.

Hollywood will be a zoo on New Year's Eve, of course, and as far we're concerned, few destinations are actually worth fighting the treacherous traffic for. John Digweed at Avalon is an exception. The techno legend is sure to offer the kind of epic electronic dance extravaganza you'll want on the last night of the year. This will be Diggy's fourth NYE set at the Avalon (and his release, Structures, features a live set recorded there), so he knows how to rock the room. Kazall shares the decks and Avalon promises a “full physical production” with dancers, performers and visuals. 1735 Vine St. www.avalonhollywood.com

Looking for the best big-ass bash for the mainstream masses? Chances are Big Bang at the Hollywood and Highland Complex will be the ticket. Featuring Lupe Fiasco, Cobra Starship, over 15 DJs, a buffet and more, this one should offer a grab bag for revelers ringing in another blurry new year. Mario Lopez from TV's Extra hosts, so you may even see your drunk self on TV come Monday. Info here.

Exactly half of the promoters from our much-debated Top 10 L.A. Clubs list happen to be throwing NYE shindigs, so if you're looking for sure things, these are as close as it gets. We've written enough about them this year, so click the links for complete info. Bootie LA at the Echoplex, Empire with Semi-Precious Weapons and Warner Drive at the Roxy, Auburn Events (Departure) NYE 2012 with Andy Caldwell at Dim Mak Studios, Mr. Black presents Rasputin with Sam Sparro at The Robertson and Part Time Punks at La Cita .
