So if this isn't a gay club hit this fall, we don't know what from what. The new Har Mar Superstar track has arrived after a musical Har Mar Hiatus of … has it been five years? It's from his forthcoming album, Dark Touches. In that time, a lot of blue-eyed soul singers have come and gone, but Har Mar, by laying low (as much as he could) and not banging us over the head at every opportunity, has managed to sustain himself. (We ran into him at Malo a few months back when he was hosting a trivia night put on by Ashtar Command's Chris Holmes.)

Somewhat curiously, we first learned of the Har Mar Resurrection while listening to NPR. We driving somewhere, and all the sudden KPCC's Alex Cohen utters his name. We nearly swerved off the road; Har Mar's not really NPR fodder. You can listen to the broadcast below:

The new album sees Har Mar, aka Sean Tillman, working with producer John Fields (Andrew WK, Jonas Brothers, Rooney), The Faint's Clark Baechle and Jacob Thiele, former Moldy Peach Adam Green, P.O.S. of the Rhymesayers collective, Boom Bip, and others.

The MP3 below features production work by the Bird and the Bee's Greg Kurstin, known for his work with Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, and Lily Allen. The track, according to the press release, was originally intended for Spears. Har Mar tosses the track on its ass by keeping it an ode to tall boys (how could he not?), and therefore creating a song ripe for the dancefloor.
