Nelly Furtado, the influential Canadian artist known for her 2006 album “Loose” with producer Timbaland, is back in the studio and preparing to release her next album later this year. Before that, she’s dropping a new single called “Love Bites” featuring Tove Lo and SG Lewis.
“I have a whole new generation of people discovering my music and it just feels really good. Because it’s so authentic for me. I’ve kind of fallen in love with music again? So it’s very trippy meeting young fans, it’s this very real, multigenerational reach of the music,” she said in an interview with PAPER Magazine.
The collaboration with Tove Lo and SG Lewis came about after touring with Dom Dolla in 2023. Furtado expresses admiration for Tove Lo’s talent and recalls meeting SG Lewis at Beyond the Valley Festival. In addition to discussing her musical journey, Furtado touches on various topics including her past as a raver, her child’s music preferences, her reunion with Timbaland, and her thoughts on Taylor Swift at the VMAs.
