National Rum Day

Ghostbar (Courtesy Palms Casino Resort)

Vegas Watch: From the Red Rocks to the west to Downtown Las Vegas in the north to the sparkling strip in the east to the new Allegiant Stadium in the south, there is no point in the city that is not visible from the newly reopened Ghostbar at the Palms Casino Resort. The sky-high indoor/outdoor deck off the beaten path features live entertainment, music and dancing. On the ground level of the newly renovated resort is the Scotch 80 restaurant, which has reopened in the same space but with new menu options and culinary team, and just launched a one-of-a-kind wagyu/Kobe beef menu, as well.

Tuesday, Aug. 16 is National Rum Day and the Fairmont Century Plaza will celebrate a Havana Night in the lobby bar, featuring a live Cuban band and dancers, cigar-rolling, and rum cocktails including a rum tasting, signature frozen Pina Colada, Strawberry Daiquiris, and Cuban-inspired menu items.

Saso is celebrating National Rum Day with rum cocktails all day! Stop by and enjoy the Papa Don’t Preach cocktail, along with a complimentary appetizer with your order. Far Bar Little Tokyo is serving up a Papa Loves Mambo cocktail all day long. Receive a complimentary appetizer when you order a Don Papa cocktail.

If you’d rather remain safe and sane at home for the rum-lover’s holiday, the bartenders at Death & Co. shared some of their concoctions with us:
