Aviation-themed Los Angeles food bazaar The Proud Bird will be celebrating National Aviation Weekend from August 17-19 with $7 aviation-themed cocktails, complimentary guided aviation tours and discounts for all LAX and airline employees.

Just outside LAX, The Proud Bird makes the perfect spot to celebrate National Aviation Weekend for kids and adults alike, with 16 aircraft throughout the property, interactive aviation exhibits and closeup views of the LAX runways.

Aviation-themed cocktails include a Frequent Flyer Old Fashioned with Templeton rye, angostura bitters, Luxardo Cherry, orange ,and an Aviator with Botanist Gin, Cremé de Violette, maraschino liqueur, lemon juice and the Co-Pilot Strawberry Mule with Hangar One Vodka, muddled strawberries, ginger beer and lime Juice. Happy hour will be offered all day on Monday, August 19.

Sunstone Vineyards & Winery, one of the first organic vineyard estates in Santa Barbara County, is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its first vintage and the opening of its tasting room in 1994 with a public “Wine & Swine” themed reception at the Sunstone Estate on Saturday.

The  winery, which specializes in Bordeaux and Rhône style wines, has also released a member-exclusive 25th Anniversary Cuvée and is offering the public a rare opportunity to experience the world-famous Sunstone Villa firsthand with a Tour and Tasting Experience available for just four dates in August and September.

The 25th Anniversary Reception, which runs from 4-6 p.m.  will feature a pig roast, live 90’s music, a ceremony honoring well-known Sunstone “alumni” winemakers and a free raffle with 25 prizes. Tickets can be booked online and are available to the general public for $30 each, with Club Sunstone

The 9th Annual All-American Rib Fest takes place from 3-9 p.m. at Lucques and the aroma of smoked lamb, pork and beef ribs is already wafting through the West Hollywood neighborhood.

The Family Style BBQ Feast includes Saint Louis-Style pork ribs; braised beef back ribs; spiced lamb spare ribs; and Too-Hot-To-Handle Chicken Wings. Sides on the menu are coleslaw, baked beans, long-cooked collard greens, buttered corn-on-the-cob, tomato and watermelon salad.  Grilled cornbread and Wonder Bread are included. Buttermilk Shortcake with Harry’s Strawberries and Lora’s Raspberries  is for dessert together with cowboy cocktails.  Come prepared for the annual costume contest.

L.A.’s Michelin-starred chef Michael Cimarusti is hosting an exclusive Michter’s Whiskey Dinner alongside Providence’s bar director, Kim Stodel, and Michter’s Master Distiller, Dan McKee on Tuesday at Providence.

During this limited seat event, McKee will guide imbibers through a tasting of rare Michter’s whiskeys, paired  with Cimarusti’s award-winning cuisine.  Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. with signature cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres. Guests will be guided through several rare whiskey selections through the course of the evening, along with a brief behind-the-scenes look into Michter’s rich history and legacy — dating back to the 18th century. The evening will conclude with a special Michter’s gift for each guest to take home.

The  Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival is ramping up to its ninth rendition, a rare opportunity for food lovers to have one-on-one time with some of the hottest chefs in the country during the four-day epicurean extravaganza, with events taking place all over L.A. . Among the culinary stars on the lineup are the legendary Jeremiah Tower (“The Last Magnificent”,) Nancy Silverton, Jet Tila and Alvin Cailan,  Curtis Stone, Tim Hollingsworth and Antonia Lofaso. The festival will also showcase wines from across California and the world.

Los Angeles Food & Wine launches Thursday evening with a series of dinners at restaurants across the city. The action then shifts to the historic Barker Hangar at Santa Monica Airport for the rest of the weekend. Among the 14 culinary star-studded events:

The Legends Dinner at Chi SPACCA: The widely credited father of California cuisine, Jeremiah Tower, joins queen of the Mozza-Plex Nancy Silverton at Chi SPACCA.

Dinner at Otium: Fans of Netflix’s “The Final Table” can pull up a chair to watch 2018 season winner Tim Hollingsworth share the spotlight with rising star chef Travis Swikard at Hollingsworth’s  Broad museum-adjacent Otium.
