29-Year-Old Man Dies in Auto Collision near Valli Hi Drive

LANDERS, CA (October 7, 2022) – Early Tuesday evening, a car accident on State Route 247 claimed the life of Nathan Salazar

Police responded to the scene around 5:00 p.m., near Valli Hi Drive.

According to reports, Salazar was driving a northbound 2006 Nissan Frontier before illegally passing another vehicle on the southbound lanes. After passing the vehicle, Salazar veered right across the northbound lanes and entered the desert area near Valli Hi Drive.

As a result, the Nissan rolled over and crashed into a fire hydrant. 

Eventually, paramedics arrived at the scene and took the driver, 29-year-old Salazar, to the Hi-Desert Medical Center. He was later airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he succumbed to his injuries.
