18-Year-Old Student Fatally Struck in Motorcycle Accident near Foxen Vineyard and Winery

SISQUOC, CA (March 8, 2023) – Sunday morning, Nathan Johnson was fatally struck in a motorcycle crash on Foxen Canyon Road. The incident occurred just before 10:00 a.m., at the 7600 block of Foxen Canyon Road, near Foxen Vineyard & Winery. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Yamaha R6 motorcycle going south collided head-on with a northbound Honda Accord. Investigators claimed that the rider crossed the double yellow lines and crashed into the Accord. Responding personnel declared the motorcyclist, 18-year-old Johnson of Santa Maria, dead at the scene. The driver and passenger inside the Accord did not sustain any injuries. Santa Maria Joint Union High School District spokesman said that Johnson was a senior student at Righetti High School. At this time, the California Highway Patrol is working to determine the factors that contributed to the incident. An active investigation into the fatal motorcycle crash is currently ongoing.
