Three Pronounced Dead after Head-On Crash near Sutter Avenue

FRESNO, CA (May 4, 2022) – Monday afternoon, a car crash on Highway 33 left Natalie Shepherd and Savanah Fagundes dead.

Officers responded to the scene around 2:40 p.m., just north of Sutter Avenue on May 2.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a pickup-truck and a van collided in the highway’s southbound lane. However, further circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear.

Upon impact, the Dodge became engulfed in flames. Responding officers discovered the mother and daughter, as well as another unidentified victim, deceased at the scene.

At this time, authorities are still currently working to determine the cause of the collision.

Furthermore, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Fresno police ask anyone with information to contact their local offices. At this time, an active investigation is  currently underway.
