You're on the job and you doze off. Happens all the time.

Unfortunately for this particular airport worker, the spot he got all cozy in was the cargo hold of a Boeing 737-900 en route to LAX from Seattle, according to Alaska Airlines.

Oops?

Dude, a baggage handler, woke up midair, 14 minutes into flight 448, the airline said in a statement. Luckily, his eyeballs didn't burst as a result of high altitude air pressure.

According to Alaska:

After landing, the agent, an employee of Menzies Aviation, walked off the aircraft from the front cargo hold, which is pressurized and temperature controlled. Upon exiting, he told authorities he had fallen asleep. The agent was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

It happened yesterday afternoon. Flight Tracker says the plane took off from Seattle at 2:24 p.m. and that the incident apparently caused an 81-minute delay.

The pilot “reported hearing banging from beneath the aircraft,” the airline states, and the captain “immediately returned to Seattle, declaring an emergency for priority landing.”

This sounds like the worst disco nap ever. Of course, the whole thing was under investigation.
