The maker of Maison Giraud's famously delicious croissants, pastry chef Noubar Yessayan, will be making his Food Network debut tonight on a new show King of Cones

The special summer 4-episode show features pastry chefs competing for $10,000. Ice cream is the medium of choice. There are rotating celebrity judges throughout the episodes, but tonight's panel of judges includes Mozza's Nancy Silverton.

King of Cones looks to feature all the competition cooking show hijinx we've come to know and love/hate, with challenges centering around unusual ingredients and not enough time. From the press materials:

In each episode, a giant ice cream truck arrives with a new theme and mystery ingredient that the contestants must translate into a uniquely delicious ice cream dessert — before time runs out. Contestants must survive three heart-pounding challenges that would leave any top dessert professional screaming.

King of Cones premiers tonight at 8 p.m. PST on the Food Network.
