Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Collision near Cheyenne Avenue

LAS VEGAS, NV (January 20, 2022) – Friday night, a pedestrian crash on Pecos Road claimed the life of 36-year-old Nancy Mae Jeffers.

The hit-and-run crash took place near Pecos and Cheyenne Avenue before 6:00 p.m. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to authorities, the driver of a silver Chevrolet Silverado with black accents struck Jeffers. Upon impact, the involved driver immediately fled the scene without rendering aid to the pedestrian.

At this time, further events leading up to the collision remain unclear.

Paramedics arrived and transported the severely injured victim to UMC hospital. However, the victim later died due to extent of injuries sustained.

The surrounding area was closed off during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.

Jeffers’ death marks the 2nd traffic-related death in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2022.

Meanwhile, the police are still searching for the vehicle involved. Further circumstances surrounding the fatal pedestrian crash are still under active investigation.
