Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision near Wisconsin Street

FAIRFIELD, CA (October 27, 2021) Authorities arrested Nadhir Ghuzi after a fatal hit-and-run crash on North Texas Street.

The accident took place around 7:00 p.m., at the intersection near Wisconsin Street. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after.

According to CHP, officers received reports of a collision between a Nissan SUV and a bicycle. Per reports, the bicyclist was riding in the area when the Nissan struck him.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene, due to the extent of their condition. At this time, authorities withheld his identity pending notification of kin.

Meanwhile, witnesses said the suspect driver did not render any aid to the victim, and fled the scene.

Eventually, police tracked down the vehicle and identified the driver via surveillance videos, and arrested Ghuzi on suspicion of multiple charges, including homicide and DUI.

Furthermore, Fairfield police continue to investigate the fatal crash.
