Zagat, the longtime restaurant guidebook that's made up of user rankings, has just revealed its top rated restaurants in L.A. for its 2016 guide, and things look very different this year than they have in the past. N/naka takes the No. 1 spot (as ranked for food) for the first time, moving up from No. 8 in last year's rankings. Last year's top-rated Mélisse moves down to third place. And Pizzeria Mozza shoots up from No. 39 last year to this year's No. 7 slot. Long Beach Italian restaurant Michael's on Naples drops from the No. 4 slot to No. 10 while its Italian steakhouse concept, for which owner Michael Dene raised his own Chianina cows, comes in at No. 8.

Here is the entire top 10:

1. n/naka
2. Angelini Osteria
3. Mélisse
4. Matsuhisa Restaurant
5. Providence
6. Asanebo
7. Pizzeria Mozza
8. Chianina Steakhouse
9. Bestia
10. Michael's on Naples Ristorante

In other categories, Geoffrey's Malibu took the top spot for decor, Providence took the top spot for service (here's one we agree with; We gave Providence “best service” in this year's Best of L.A.) and Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles is apparently the most popular restaurant in town.

You can find all kinds of other information over at Zagat, including the entire top 50 list, as well as comparisons between how L.A.'s diners and the rest of the country eat, tip and more.
