Here's something to check out this weekend: a mysterious moaning “Hermit's Cabin” at the museum. The rickety, tin-roofed cabin is located outside of the Pentimento restaurant at LACMA. A woman's wailing emanates from inside it. It was made by artist Emily Lacy, one of the members of Machine Gallery, as part of her “Temples of the Mind” residency at the museum. Lacy's residency lasts two more weeks, so see it while you can.

A moaning cabin is a great idea. Reminds me of Harry Potter's “shrieking shack,” only better.

Who or what is inside the cabin?
