Music has an undeniable power to evoke strong emotions in its listeners. It can pull you from unmotivated to motivated, sad to happy, happy to sad, and more, making it one of the most powerful art forms. But music today has lost much of its emotional pull as artists had to limit what they can share. Many artists have been forced to hide their emotions, especially on social media, to ‘protect’ their brand. Myron Mckinley now gives the world another chance to listen to profound music through his album, Sound Alchemist.

The album, which will be dropping on February 11, 2023, is a world music project that shares Myron Mckinley’s story. Myron has been in the music industry for over 14 years. He is a virtuosic pianist, producer, and composer. He is also the current music director and keyboardist of the legendary group, Earth, Wind, and Fire. Myron’s work in the industry has attracted massive attention and praise from legends like Whitney Houston.

Myron has toured with Grammy winner Whitney Houston, Philip Bailey, Kenny Lattimore, En Vogue, and his mentor, American bassist Stanley Clarke. Stanley mentored Myron Mckinley throughout his development, helping him realize the true power of music.

Myron views music as more than art. He believes it is one of the most powerful communication tools that can transcend all distances, and when used correctly, it can hugely impact society. Myron also believes that to really express yourself musically, you have to create from your life experiences. He uses music to encourage and inspire others, as seen in the new album.

Sound Alchemist is created from Myron’s life experiences and touches on the music industry. The album is a learned thesis of sonic exploration and experimentation, written as a blend of contemporary, straight-ahead, and fusion jazz, hip hop, R&B, and soul and multicultural nuance.

Myron Mckinley has an album release concert at The Miracle Theatre Inglewood, CA, on February 11, starting at 7.30 pm.

Speaking more about Sound Alchemist, Myron says this is a project that is so dear to him for many reasons, and he can’t wait to share it with the audience. “Music has always been a part of my life, and sharing my experiences, the hard work, and hardships through it has been a wonderful experience and an eye-opening one. Sound Alchemist taught me more about the music industry and even patience,” Myron says.

Myron has been working on this project for six years. He started with some ideas and concepts. Myron knew that he wanted his first solo album to be a blend of all his favorite genres. Myron Mckinley fuses heady jazz, warm soul, and R&B with seriously greasy funk, and elements of hip-hop and EDM for a unique musical experience, which is what he wanted the album to feel like. However, bringing all this together was challenging. Myron explains it took a lot of time to find the right connection and people to bring the project to life.
