In this corner, we have the mop-topped boys from Liverpool known as the Beatles: shaggy hit-makers who were gods to girls next door and psychedelic drug-using war protesters alike. And in this corner we have the bad boys from London known as the Rolling Stones: sex-mongers who had sympathy for the devil and elevated filthy licks to an art form. Tonight, the two bands will battle it out to finally determine who reigns supreme. Except not really. All the members of those bands are knocking on the retirement home door (Or should be! We're looking at you, Stones), and a few are even deceased. (Though somehow Keith will outlive them all.) So to finally end this debate, we must rely on the musical stylings of Abbey Road and Jumping Jack Flash, two tribute bands that will impersonate the infamous Brit rockers and duke it out for the title of Greatest Rock Band in History. At least vicariously. Each band will crank out their greatest hits, shootout style, and whoever causes the most women to pass out will be named the winner. Or something like that. You can say you were there when the kings of rock … or at least mock rock … were finally crowned. Brixton South Bay, 100 W. Torrance Blvd., Redondo Beach; Fri.
