The Flaming Lips

The Soft Bulletin (Warner Bros.)

LYNN TRUELL: I always go to The Flaming Lips’ The Soft Bulletin, the one with “Waitin’ For a Superman” on it. Everybody should buy that album.

WILL SCHWARTZ: I’ve had favorites over the years. It’s hard to pick just one album. But if I think of the albums that really had a huge effect on me musically, The Breeders’ Pod was a huge album for me. Bjork’s Homogenic was a huge thing for me. Patti Smith’s Horses. The Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers. My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless. Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On? There are so many.

TRUELL: Just put The Soft Bulletin.

Imperial Teen plays with The Younger Lovers and DJ Javi En Rose at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 3 at The Echo.
