If you haven't been to WP24, Wolfgang Puck's newish restaurant, you can live vicariously and just read Jonathan Gold's latest review, out today. Or you can head downtown, past the gathering crowds of Lakers fan and the folks at LA Live, past the valets and hotel guests, and up to the 24th floor to Puck's latest experiment in Chinese cuisine and vertigo. Once there, you will find, off and on, Puck himself and executive chef Lee Hefter — and a new chef de cuisine.

Sara Johannes, a veteran of Puck's Minneapolis restaurant 20.21 and, most recently, of his Dallas restaurant Five Sixty, was recently named to the position. No, we do not know if Puck is a student of numerology; we'll ask next time.

David McIntyre, the longtime Puck veteran who opened WP24, has been named chef de cuisine at Puck's new London restaurant CUT at 45 Park Lane, which is set to open in the spring of 2011. How's that for musical kitchen chairs.

Lee Hefter, by the way, remains the executive chef at WP24, as well as at Spago, CUT and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. He's the executive chef for the entire Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group, so he gets a lot of titles.
