Rage Against the Machine DVD To be Released

Fire up the wayback machine, let's go back to an era when Rage Against the Machine was king. Next week, MVD Entertainment releases Revolution In The Head - Rage Against the Machine and the Art of Protest. The DVD presents videos, unseen footage, new clips and other juicy tidbits for Rage afficinados. The vid also includes interview with producer and engineer, Garth Richardson, RATM biographer, Colin Devenish, the band's live sound engineer, Dave 'Rat' Levine, and the man who signed them, Michael Goldstone. (Now, shit's gonna get real for a second. Lemme bring this blog down a notch. I like to joke about how Rage Against the Machine is bro-ish music for suburban self-haters who now own real-estate companies, but I'll be the first to say it. Rage Against the Machine changed my life. Yeah, I'm not embarassed (I am), it's better than saying Linkin Park or Pink made me who I am today, right? Right? Anyone? Well, here's the deal. As an adolescent in some random suburbs with subpar schools, Rage introduced me (and maybe you) to a new vocabulary of social reality. Zach De La Rocha's lyrics filled in the gaps left out by our history books, acting as Howard Zinn for generation angst. In each name drop of Leonard Peltier, Zapata, and genocide, my world became just a little bit bigger. Then in the liner notes, Rage would include "Required Reading," which became the springboard for later discoveries and shaping of a worldview. The books of Ralph Ellison, Noam Chomsky, and Carlos Castaneda took over from where Rage left off.) The DVD hits shelves February 23rd, but you can pick it up online now.

There isn't a trailer available right now, but instead view our Rage Against the Machine Greatest Video Hits after the jump.
