Fashion, hip-hop and pop culture magazine Complex is getting into the festival business. And it's doing so in Long Beach.
Mark Ecko's popular media platform is gearing up for the launch of its first annual ComplexCon, which is coming to Long Beach Convention Center Nov. 5 and 6. The "expertly curated convention and festival" had already confirmed a pretty solid music lineup, including Skrillex, Kid Cudi, Travis Scott and Chief Keef, but this morning it added an even bigger name to the proceedings: Kanye West, who will close out the festival/convention (festivention?) with a headlining set on Sunday, Nov. 6.
In addition to music, ComplexCon will also feature more than 100 pop-up shops from such brands as Bathing Ape, A$AP Rocky's AWGE, Billionaire Boys Club, Union L.A., RSVP Gallery and Puma, as well as art and installations by Patrick Martinez, Snarkitecture and #Popaganda mastermind Ron English. Japanese artist-designer Takashi Murakami is creating the event's overall visual aesthetic, and Pharrell Williams is serving as its cultural director and host committee chair (translation: He's the head curator).
