Even in L.A., it's still something of a taboo for a woman to brand herself as a pot-smoker. So in 2009, native Angeleno ChaCha VaVoom (née Vanessa Sahagun) launched 420nurses.com, a social network for models who toke to connect, video chat and cash in on their looks, à la Instagram superstar Madzilla.
Now, VaVoom is expanding, opening a 2,000-square-foot photo studio on a busy stretch of Sherman Way in Canoga Park, a dedicated space where 420 Nurses members can network and smoke weed for the camera.
“Smoking pot can be something useful, an opportunity,” VaVoom says. “We give young women the inspiration on an everyday basis to feel better about themselves.”
420 Nurses has thousands of registered members worldwide, many of who are trying to make a career of looking hot and smoking pot.
While that may sound like a narrow niche, VaVoom's members are sought by conventions, canna-businesses and dispensaries looking for models, budtenders and brand ambassadors who may be willing to blow sexy smoke rings on camera. Convention booths often need women who can pack a bowl, set up a dab and perhaps even get stoned with customers without losing their cool.

VaVoom says she doesn’t take a commission for linking people to jobs, but the women can pay to have their profiles become featured profiles on the site. While many use names like Princess PurpleKush and Angela Asphyxia and post come-hither pictures that may show them slowly exhaling, there's also a market for female stoners with a sophisticated air.
As one recent casting call instructed: “Please don’t just wear a bra and panties … sexy attire is one thing, undergarments are not outfits. Please dress sexy classy, not trashy!”
