Minneapolis alt-rockers Soul Asylum haven’t been wasting their time during lockdown. When their US tour was cut short due to COVID, frontman David Pirner and guitarist Ryan Smith started streaming Friday night Quarantine Sessions from Pirner’s living room. Back in April, they released the rather awesome Hurry Up and Wait album, their 12th.  They also worked on acoustic versions of songs from the latest release.

This show on Saturday from Creation Studios in Minneapolis will be a full band affair, with Local H opening, and has been cleverly dubbed Hurry Up and Wait Some More. According to the press release, “Soul Asylum will also take part in this year’s rescheduled Record Store Day. A deluxe version of Hurry Up and Wait will be available with a bonus 7 inch to celebrate the third RSD drop on October 24, 2020. The gatefold double LP album is pressed on 180 Gram Vinyl and includes a bonus 7 Inch featuring two previously unreleased recordings; a studio version of live staple ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’ and an acoustic version of the band’s fan favorite ‘We 3,’ a track that first appeared on And The Horse They Rode In On and later on the Chasing Amy soundtrack.”

Tune in at 7 p.m. PT on Saturday, October 10, here.
