Grammy-nominated musician Halsey has been busy during this election period. Remember when she sat down with Bernie Sanders at the start of October? She kicked off the year with the excellent Manic album, but Tuesday’s livestream is actually a reading for her I Would Leave Me if I Could book of poetry.

A statement reads, “In this debut collection, Halsey bares her soul. Bringing the same artistry found in her lyrics, Halsey’s poems delve into the highs and lows of doomed relationships, family ties, sexuality, and mental illness. More hand grenades than confessions, these autobiographical poems explore and dismantle conventional notions of what it means to be a feminist in search of power.”

An important voice for these times.
