Well, if anybody didn’t realize before the first debate that this is the most important election in our lifetime, they surely do now. “Stand by,” said Trump, as he issued a rallying cry to his Proud Boys in one of the evening’s startling, heartbreaking moments. This shit is no joke.

So we do what we can. Everyone should vote — let’s start there. Meanwhile, artists are posting music on Youtube every Thursday at 5 p.m. PT with the tag “Team Joe Sings.” We’ve already seen performances by Chloe X Halle, X Ambassadors, Kesha, Los Lobos, and members of the National and Death Cab for Cutie. There will be more performances every Thursday until the election on November 3.
