Pussy Riot Siberia will perform live at the closing event for Nadya Tolokonnikova’s art exhibition Punk’s Not Dead at the Honor Fraser Gallery on Saturday, Jan. 25.  Tolokonnikova’s two-week performance residency (Part 1) will be succeeded by a solo exhibition, Punk’s Not Dead: Part 2, scheduled to open in the spring. While Part 1, the residency, is centered on Tolokonnikova’s performance-based interventions, Part 2 will spotlight her visual arts practice, debuting a new body of work that further explores her multifaceted approach to resisting systems of oppression and dehumanization.

Tickets are on sale now for the Wednesday, Jan. 29,  LA Gives Back Fire Relief concert at The Bellwether. Produced and curated by IHEARTCOMIX, Fire Relief features Brownies & Lemonade, A Club Called Rhonda,  Emo Nite,  Pangea Sound, Lights Down Low,   HEAV3N, Electric Feels,  Shrek Rave, Ninja Tune, Mad Decent, and  Production Club all sharing the venue with a big line-up of headlining artists all night. The event also features support from Fortress Entertainment, Little Cinema, Little Secret, and Restless Nites.

On Monday, March 24, the Parisian sextet Caravan Palace comes to The Novo in downtown LA.  On a United States tour for their Gangbusters Melody Club, the platinum-selling group initially formed to score a vintage silent erotic film for French TV and ended up with an album of frisky disco inspired by the joys of dancing. The title Gangbusters Melody Club refers both to a radio broadcast that began in the 1930s and the outdated expression it inspired to imply that something is exciting – going gangbusters. 

BeachLife Festival will be back for its sixth in  Redondo Beach from Friday,  May 2 through Sunday, May 4.  This year’s music, art, and culinary festival will feature headlining sets from Lenny Kravitz, Sublime, and Alanis Morissette, as well as Train, O.A.R., Pretenders, CAKE, Mt. Joy, Jackson Browne, The Beach Boys, and many more
