A 45-year-old man was gunned down as he was standing near his park vehicle by the Nickerson Gardens Public Housing Development December 17. Glenn Carr was standing across the parking lot from a well-attended memorial for 31-year-old murder victim Rayshawn Boyce – who was gunned down in the same parking lot on December 12 – when at least two black male suspects approached him.

After a brief physical altercation one of the suspects shot Carr multiple times. Carr was able to run down the street before he collapsed. “There were 50 to 100 people out there,” said LAPD homicide supervisor Sal LaBarbera. “And we haven't had anyone come forward to talk to us. People fear for gang retaliation.” According to LaBarbera, Carr, who used to live at the housing project, was there visiting friends and not attending Boyce's memorial. Anyone with information about the incident should contact South East Division detectives at 213-485-4341.
