A $50,000 reward was offered today for information leading to the arrest of a woman suspected of fatally shooting 15-year-old Luis Eduardo Perez. The Dec 7 shooting occurred around 7:34 a.m. in the 2100 block of East Cesar Chavez Avenue at a bus stop.

The Los Angeles Police Department hopes the reward will encourage those who have information to come forward. The office of District 14 Los Angeles City Councilman Jose Huizar is expected to offer the reward.

A news conference planned today by Huizar to announce the reward was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. The news conference may be moved to next week, said Huizar's spokesman Rick Coca.

The female suspect is described as Hispanic. According to reports, she walked up to Perez and fired multiple shots at him. The motive for the shooting was not known. Anyone with information should contact Detective Araceli Negrete of LAPD's Hollenbeck Division at (323) 342-8960
