A 47-year-old woman was gunned down in front of her Harbor Gateway home. According to police reports, Rose Maria Rees walked out of her house and was about to get into her car and pick up a family member when an unknown assailant or assailants walked up to her and shot her dead.

She collapsed in the street in front of her car in the 13500 block of Ainsworth Street near West 135th Street about 9:05 p.m., September 18. Police say the woman was not affiliated with a gang, and that her shooting may have occurred during a robbery attempt. According to media reports, Rees worked alongside her husband Allan at his company, which provides health services to people with disabilities. No arrests have been made as yet.
