A man was stabbed to death August 13, following an alleged gang-related scuffle in South Los Angeles.

According to LAPD reports, police responded to a battery call in the 12000 block of South Figueroa Street, near 120th Street, at about 12:30 a.m. Officers at the scene found a man in his late 40s with stab wounds to the neck. They learned the victim had been playing pool with six other men, when a fight broke out, leading to the stabbing incident. The victim was pronounced dead at a hospital and his identity is being withheld pending further investigation.

Police say no immediate arrests have been made. But according to reports, officers at the scene allegedly took a man with a bloodied face into custody at about 1:30 a.m. Anyone with information on the case can contact the Southeast Station at (213) 972-7828.
