Sergio Ramirez, 19, was fatally wounded August 11, in a shooting at a gas station convenience store in North Hollywood.

The incident happened at an AM/PM store located in the 6700 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, near Vanowen Street, about 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, police said. According to a witness, the shots were fired after a scuffle broke out between two groups at the gas station. When officers arrived at the crime scene, they found several bullet casings on the ground. A short time later, police were informed that a man with multiple gunshot wounds had arrived at Valley Presbyterian Hospital. Detectives on the case determined that the wounded victim was from the gas station shooting incident.

Ramirez was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police arrested Nestor Otero, 24, and Bryan Torres, 19, shortly after midnight in connection with the shooting.
