Los Angeles Police Department detectives shot a robbery suspect to death in South Los Angeles on August 6.

According to police reports, detectives were conducting a surveillance operation after a series of heists at Metro PCS stores when four male suspects attempted to rob a Metro store near East 49 th Street and Wadsworth Avenue. The police killed one of the suspects, who was described as a 19-year-old African American male. Two other suspects were shot and taken to a hospital. They are expected to recover. It is unclear whether the suspects shot at police or whether they were carrying any weapons. The officer involved shooting occurred at 3:30 pm.
