The man who was killed in an apparent drive-by shooting July 29 in the Chesterfield Square neighborhood of Los Angeles was identified as 21-year-old Wilber Alberto Panameno.

According to police reports, Panameno and his friend were standing on the corner of 52nd Street and St. Andrew's Place when a gray vehicle pulled up to them and the passenger in the back seat began firing multiple rounds, hitting the victims several times. Panameno died at a hospital at 1:50 p.m. His friend is in stable condition. Police say the daylight shooting was most likely gang-related.
