A 21-year-old Hispanic male was fatally shot at a late-night party in Boyle Heights on July 5.

The Fourth of July party was underway in the 400 block of Estudillo Avenue, near Fourth and Lorena streets. The incident occurred at 1.30 a.m., when Pedro Xochipa was approached by the Hispanic suspect, who shot him in the head. Xochipa was rushed to  USC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. It is not clear whether the shooting was gang-related.
