Victim: Betty Olgilvie

Few details of the alleged murder are available but Olgilvie's niece's boyfriend, John Herreres, was arrested for murder two days later, on June 13. According to the police, firefighters went to the 12200 block of Osborne Place at 3:50 pm, after the building manager saw smoke seeping through the bottom of the apartment's door. When firefighters entered, the blaze was already out. But they found the bodies of Olgilvie and a small dog.

At the time, Herreres was booked on suspicion of arson. But cops upped the ante on June 13 when the coroner ruled her death a homicide.
