According to preliminary police reports, the victim was sitting in a car when he was shot near E. 88th Street and Central Avenue. He drove as far on Central as E. 92nd Street before he collapsed and died from his injuries, shortly after 5 p.m.

The wounded victim was taken to a nearby hospital.

Police believe the shooters are hiding in a building around 93rd Street and Central Avenue, and have established a perimeter around the area.

The shooting death occurred two days after another man was gunned down at the same location. Timothy Sanders, 23, was shot around 10:50 p.m. in the parking lot of the Liquor Bank on E. 92nd Street and Central Avenue on June 20. Sanders was hit several times, then fled into an alley where he collapsed. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Police believe both shootings are gang-related. However, there is no word on whether the two shootings are related.
